Brahmagiri Trek

This was my first trek. I was all excited and waiting for the day. First place to visit as part of this trek was "Irpu falls". Won't describe anything just take a look.

Had breakfast, collected sleeping bag arranged the backpack and all set to climb towards "Nari Male". Applied snuff and oil paste on legs and boots to safeguard from leech. You can imagine the state of my white socks.

Organizers informed that first one and half hour is the difficult path after that its easy. Many of us thought will start after one and half hour. Finally decided to explore how difficult it is and all started together.

Had “chapatti”, “chatnipudi”, salad and curds for lunch. Must say we had very good lunch. I had not expected to get that good lunch at that remote place.
Oh it’s not nap time, but its time to move ahead towards “Nari male”.
Climbed few minutes and looked around. I could see green, green and green everywhere. This was no less beautiful to what shown in movies. Should I say Beautiful/marvelous, I don't know which word suits this beauty, you take a look.

We were at “Nari male”. Welcome drink supposed to wait for us, but got little delayed. Few eagerly waiting for their tea had a bad news. While climbing with grocery we had missed tea packets.

After having energy booster "lemon juice" we started towards "Munikal caves". Couldn't see much in caves as we were late and it was very dark. But the way to "Munikal caves" itself was worth seeing. While walking back, beautiful big Moon gave us the company.

Dinner was followed by cultural activity. When I was busy enjoying the cultural activities, Red Cross at “Nari male”, took my blood without informing me.
It was time to bed, we placed our self in sleeping bag. It was very cold and I could not sleep well.

Got up in the morning, warmed our self sitting in front of fire. Eagerly waiting Tea lovers were happy to have their cup of lemon tea in the morning. Went out for a "Nature Trail" which reminded me of Education tour during school days.

Had breakfast, packed the lunch, packed the bags and started towards Brahmagiri. Two groups were made, one group which want to climb Brahmagiri and other group which will take relatively easier path.

Reached the base of the Brahmagiri hill, can I actually climb this? was the only question in mind. Does danger come along with Beauty not sure , but this hill looked beautiful and dangerous. I finally decided to climb.

Did look down while climbing up to make myself happy how much I have achieved :-). Finally we were on top of Brahmagiri. Just threw myself on the bed of grass and relaxed for sometime.

Now the time to climb down all the distance we covered in last one and half day. I had hurt my toe while climbing. Had a doctor in our team and she did a first aid and I was all ready to take my steps.

We reached "Tirunelli" in kerala and our trek came to an end.
Back to Bangalore and back to noisy life.

M G road Disaster

Saturday I had to drive from Marthhalli to Rajajinagar. Only road I was aware of was Martha halli->Airport road->M G road ->Cubbon Road -> Rajbhavan road -> Malleshwaram -> Rajajinagar. I don’t try new roads especially when I am driving a car.
I started around 11.20 am from Martha halli. Even though it was a slow moving traffic at some places I reached MG road in 30 minutes. Air Port road to MG road entry was closed. Traffic was diverted. There were no boards mentioning where to take left /right to reach cubbon road. I was almost lost. I did not know where to go. Putting together all the knowledge I had of roads and direction I choose a road to go, thanks to Bangalore traffic Police even that was closed.

I had to ask many people for direction to reach cubbon road. I kept driving in the direction suggested. When I reached a road near Commercial Street I was sure I haven’t lost and I can reach home.
This was not problem with me alone. I could see many more enquiring the direction to reach their destination. I took nearly 1hr 40 minutes to reach home.
For whatever reason they block one road, it would be great help if they put the boards for the alternate road to take.

I pity those who have to live with this disaster every day.
