A visit to Cubbon Park

My in-laws had some work in Pensioner's office. Pensioner's office is located in Cubbon Park. Yes its inside the beautiful Cubbon Park.We started from home and drew in front of neighbours envy owner's pride "Vidhana Souda" to reach Cubbon Park.
Any time infront of Vidhana Soudha I remember my ride from Banshankari IInd stage to Cunningham road. I was getting to see the beauty of Vidhana Soudha in all
seasons. With good old memories entered Cubbon park. All the trees were looking so beautiful. That raises a question why don't we have Beautiful Tree pageant :-).

All is not well always. Same at Cubbon Park. I was disappointed to see how badly the surroundings of pensioner's office was maintained.

In-laws went to the office and I preferred to Sit below a mango tree listening to music.A person came in car , parked the car , took one book and started reading sitting below the tree.I have never tried reading sitting below a tree. I think I should try at least once to find how it feels.

My husband was exploring Cubbon park and found few were playing tennis. One of my favorite sport is tennis(I don't know to play :-(). I decided to spend rest of the time in Cubbon park watching people play tennis in bright sun.80% of the audience were in their 60s. I thought I will
have 5 or 10 minutes so preferred to stand. But One of the audience there asked me to sit by vacating the chair. It was so nice of him. I sat watching them play. I was amazed to see them play in bright Sun. First they practiced and they started playing the match. My in-laws work took good amount of time and I got to watch tennis for 45 minutes. Thanks to the person for offering me chair.

I always love walking in Cubbon Park or Lalbagh. This visit was one more memorable one.
Even though it was not as good a treat to eye as watching Federror play. But it was far better than watching our cricketers in WC :-)

Raincoat

Much awaited Summer rain in Bangalore poured last week. And it was time for me to watch "Raincoat" and not to buy one :-)
I am talking about Raincoat Movie. Ah its old one!Yes its quite old. But I had not watched it. Had heard a lot and wanted to watch. Moreover I like Ajay Devgan.
Friday "Raincoat" was telecast in Zoom TV. And I Happened to tune to the channel exactly when they started. And no way I could miss this chance. So I started watching.
In the middle power went of due to rain. I thought that's the climax of me watching the movie.
But in few minutes power was back and me back in front of TV.
Its a slow movie. But a good movie.I liked the conversation, it was very natural. Everything was so natural.
I was unhappy with one thing :-) We(human) are too greedy.
When Ajay meets Ash at her place, I could see Ash clearly and even Ajay clearly. But Ajay says Please light the lamp so that I can see your face. Common, there is so much light why do you have to waste candle :-) Poor Ash.
I am not Ash fan, but she has really done a good job in this movie.
Watching the movie with high expectation didn't disappoint me. Even though I missed few hours of my sleep, it was worth.

Standard of Govt Books

I went to "Chalghatta govt school 2 weekends. First weekend, some time I sat in class where my friend was taking class. And then took Hindi for 6th std.
Second week I was demoted:-) and sent to take English for 5th std.
Being sure that, that school has from std 1 and I won't be demoted to '0' I went to class 5th.Very few students in class. Asked them which chapter to start?. They said I need to teach them "Posting a letter".
I thought good one for 5th std. And started. Note in Govt school from 5th std they start learning English alphabets. So we need to spell the letters first and then spell the word. Even though I felt it difficult as that habit is gone from so many years. We started reading each and every letter and each and every word. There are few words written in book for example
I would is written "I'd" Who on earth can expect a kid who just started learning 'A B C' to understand this. And if we teach them this way how will they know the spelling of "I Would' If everyone on earth think 5th Std kid can understand "I'd" then I must be from mars :-)One more thing I was unhappy was
Situation is Raju goes to Post office and asks postmaster for a postcard. Post master answer is ."Here it is". This is still OK. But for beginners I guess it should have been "Here is the post card". That helps kid to read the same word multiple time and get familiar with that new word.
There were many such spelling which I feel difficult for 5th Std kid to understand.
But we have to teach the same way :-(

Hamesha such bolna !

Wait wait I am not preaching you anything here. This is a one of the Hindi chapters for 7th std Govt School in karnataka. One weekend I decided to join my friend who visits a govt school in "chalghatta" near Air-port road.
She takes Hindi for 7th Std school. Since I was new to that school I thought I will sit in my friends class and help her in controlling the kids. Chapter for that Day was "Hamesha Such Bolna". She started teaching. This was a story taken from MahaBharat. So Dritarashtra was one of the name in book. Almost all found it difficult to pronounce his name. Few said, dushta rashtra, dushta raj. After some I asked one guy to write on board "Dritarashtra" in Hindi, with very small mistake he wrote on board.
Make sure students were listening what we were saying my friend started asking question.
Question she asked was "Who is Pandu". Even though all knew the answer, no one wanted to attempt pronouncing "Dritarashtra".But incident made write this is a guy said "Pandu is brother of" and showed his finger towards the board :-)
We both couldn't stop laughing at his answer. Is it his laziness or his intelligence to properly make use of available things !!!
